Best of 2016

At the end of each year I take some time to go through all the photographs I've shot over the past 363 or so days and pick the ones that stood out in some way. It's a process that gives me a retrospective perspective on the year allowing me to appreciate the many journeys I've taken and the people I've met along the way.
This year, like all since I started my road on the photographic path, has been more expansive both in the opportunities that were presented to me and the beauty that crossed before my lens. I am always struck by the variety of my subject matter and in many ways this is why I love photography as much as I do. It offers a chance to step into worlds wildly different from one another. From the sweaty, rain-soaked dance floors of music festivals to the intimate lives of bakers and homebuilders. From the creative lives of musicians and artists to the heart-wrenching stories of people at the forefront of governmental and corporate corruption photography allows me the freedom to connect with others and also with a deeper part of myself.
Here is a sampling of this year's journey in no particular order. As always, thank you to everyone who continues to encourages me in pursuing my passion. Your support makes my heart swell with gratitude. Here's to another year of  creativity, adventure, and experience.
